WRITING YOUR STORY

Some stories should never be lost.

Why We Created Writing Your Story

Because time should not get the final word.

Hear this page.

Because time should not get the final word.

A long life holds more stories than anyone can count. The house you grew up in. The work you did. The person you married, and the day you met. The children, the moves, the friends, the losses, the things that made you laugh until you cried.

Some of those stories live in photographs, in recipes, in old letters, in a song that comes on the radio. Some live nowhere but in you.

And sometimes, by the time a family realizes how much they still wanted to ask, the chance has passed.

That is why we created Writing Your Story.

Not because everyone needs to write a book.

Everyone who has lived a long life deserves the chance to leave their story in their own words.

Your memories deserve more than a box in a closet, or a few stories told around a dinner table.

They deserve to be kept.

For your children.

For your grandchildren.

For the people who will come after them.

And for you.

That is also why it is voice-first. Hands that wrote for a lifetime may not want to type now, and eyes may tire of a screen. You can simply talk, and Rye listens, reads your words back, and keeps them.

And that is why it is a plain subscription, and private. The seat is paid for — by you, or by someone who gave it to you — so your story is never what is for sale. It is sealed under your own codes.

You do not have to remember everything.

You do not have to tell everything.

You do not have to make it sound perfect.

Tell us what you want remembered.

We will sit with you, listen, ask when it helps, and help shape those memories into the story you choose to leave behind.

Your life. Your words. Your legacy.

Take your time.

Tell it your way.

We are here to listen.

And when you are ready, we will help you preserve it.

What we believe.

Writing Your Story does not create your story. It preserves your story — in your own words, read back until every line says what you meant.

A photograph shows them what you looked like. Your story tells them who you were. We built this for the families who will open the book one day just to hear you again — and for the person who may never call themselves a writer, and does not have to.

What we are — and are not.

The owner’s own words, kept whole for Writing Your Story.

Writing Your Story is here to be a companion.

We are here to spend time with you, listen to the stories you want to tell, help you remember the moments that matter, enjoy music with you, talk, laugh, reflect, and help you create the book you want to leave behind.

If you want to tell your life story, we can help you shape it into a memoir. If you would rather simply talk for a while, that is okay too. There is no test, no deadline, and no pressure to remember everything perfectly.

Think of us as the pen in your hand.

You tell the story in your own way, in your own words, and in your own time. We help you capture it.

What we are not

Writing Your Story is not a doctor, nurse, therapist, counselor, lawyer, financial adviser, or other licensed professional service.

We do not diagnose medical conditions, recommend treatment, interpret symptoms, advise you about medications, tell you whether to start or stop a medication, provide legal advice, or make professional decisions for you.

You are always welcome to talk about experiences from your life, including illness, injury, treatment, your working life, grief, loss, family, or difficult memories if those are part of the story you want to tell.

We can listen. We cannot practice medicine, therapy, law, or any other licensed profession.

If something comes up that needs professional guidance, we will encourage you to speak with the appropriate qualified person — such as your doctor, therapist, attorney, caregiver, family member, or another trusted professional.

When appropriate, and with the permission of the person responsible for helping you with those decisions, we may help locate or organize reputable information or resources. We will not replace the professional responsible for your care or advice.

What our job really is

Our job is much simpler.

We are here to keep you company.

We are here to listen.

We are here to help you remember.

We are here to help you tell your story.

And when you are ready, we are here to help turn those memories into a book that sounds like you.

The story remains yours.

The memories remain yours.

The choices remain yours.

Writing Your Story simply helps you hold the pen.

Not sure what to do here? Questions about this page.

Here are the short answers. Inside the room — at the door on this site — you can ask your companion any of these too: type it, or let your device’s own dictation type it for you, and the answer is read aloud to you.

What is this room for?

It tells you why Writing Your Story exists, and what it is and is not. Nothing here to do but read or listen.

Do I have to tell my whole life?

No. Tell one chapter or all of them, in any order. Made up or not, memoir or a tale for the grandchildren — it is yours.

What does it cost?

$19.95 a month. One person per license. Unlimited writing. Cancel any time. Sign Up says how the door opens.

Where do I begin?

Sign Up. Two things, four large steps, then just talk.

Can you help me?

Inside the room, ask your companion and it explains where you are and what you can do. Or write to info@lovingmywords.com.
